1st... time I've actually read the blog in a while.

I'm happy Sandin has signed. I'd like to see him stay around a while. I'm not sure Benn and Dahlstrom are big losses though. They're fringe dmen that will probably be in and out of the lineup all year. I suppose that depends on what happens with Lillygrin and Muzzin.

And I don't feel like Sandin's agent lost this one, especially in comparison to those other contracts. Quite frankly, I would have rather had him 3 years at 2.6, then 2 at 2.8.

Hollywood is out of ideas. Just keep pumping out more comic book crap and regurgitating old stuff.

The first one is one of my favourite movies of all time.

The second one had some excellent content, like the tent scene.

Third one was totally watchable, but certainly one of those TBS movies where you watch it during football commercial breaks.

Assuming you mean 3 x 2.6 would have been better than 2 x 1.4?

I don't disagree but the the Cap forced Dubas to play short term with this one.

The Tom Cruise as Austin Powers opening thing still makes me laugh. Especially now that Kevin Spacey as Dr. Evil is even more real.

Not sure if they are out of ideas or they are simply catering to the masses.

I think they are out of ideas, there's no need to bring back something for over 20 years ago. Plus Verne Troyer died in 2018, and you need Mini-Me

oh whoa I thought it was 2x2.8.

1.4 is a great bridge deal.

Yeah, I'd hope there is a longer term deal at a good price next though.

Okay first this wouldn't make sense, cap is going up almost 10M probably in 3 years. We are in a serious cap crunch right now.

With the injuries Sandin probably sees an opportunity to grab some ice time here and ensure it.

Question

Can Leafs put JT on LTIR now? Or does it have to be early in the season?

If they can't until regular season they will not be able to put him on LTIR and will have to deal with the cap.

Also once everyone is healthy Either Kerfoot or Engvall and Holl will have to go.

Little of both. The masses are morons and will pay to watch pretty much anything with roided up actors on wires in front of a green screen.

1st, I wasn't aware it was 2.8 over 2 years, I thoguth it was 2.8 for 2 years.

But nobody knows for certain the cap will go up by 10m.

Yes they can. But the key date is the night before the season starts. With Lilly, for example, they'd put him on LTIR that day and effectively take their Cap to 83.9 (for as long as he remains on LTIR). That buys them 1.4M of carrying room for those 4-6 weeks. So they could carry a couple of skaters at min. wage.

The big variable for JT is that to go on LTIR you must miss 10 games and 24 days. He'd have to be out until November 5th. Tough way to start his season.

Unless another pandemic happens it will.

Or at least very close to it.

Also its not how the league works when signing contracts, they work off of these projections.

So It probably will not happen.

With Lil on LTIR that should be able to cover for a couple league min guys.

I don't see a situation how Malgin doesn't make the team at this point. the 750K contract, any ties go to the runner.

you don't know this. There have been unsubstantiated reports that it COULD go up by that.

a) "could" does not mean "likely", and most certainly does not mean "will unless" like you're saying.
b) the key person speaking about this is Bill Daly, who might, just MIGHT, have a vested interest in saying something like that.... right?

Look how contracts are made, they make these contracts off of these projections.

It is exactly how it works.

Projections in the past have been accurate give or take a M.

You do not plan for pandemics.

I’m not saying the USA is franked beyond repair, but today half of the nation is furious because a black woman played a flute.
